Enterprise & Security
udit Logs keep a record of changes made in the Docvora staff area. Each entry shows who made a change, what changed and when it happened.
They help administrators review activity, look into unexpected changes and meet internal or compliance requirements.
Audit Logs are only available on Enterprise Plans.
The Audit Log can be opened from the staff area under Audit Log, or from the Audit Log shortcut on the staff dashboard.
Entries are listed newest first, 50 per page. Each entry shows:
When the change was made
The staff member who made it
The action taken
The item that was changed
Selecting an entry expands it to show more detail.
Audit Logs record changes made across the staff area, including:
Users: suspending and unsuspending accounts, changing permissions and deleting accounts
Groups: creating and deleting groups, and adding or removing members
Spaces: creating, editing, archiving, restoring and deleting spaces and space sections
Pages: creating, editing, archiving, restoring and deleting pages, and saving or deleting page templates
Broken links: editing and deleting tracked links
Settings: login methods, site information, policies, logo, header, footer, sidebar and colours
Announcements: creating, editing, archiving and deleting announcements
Integrations: starting a FaxDocs migration
Sign-ins and page views are not recorded in Audit Logs.
An expanded entry shows what changed, including:
The old and new value of each changed field, such as a page's name, space or visibility
Permissions added or removed, for user and group changes
Whether a page's content changed, and which version it was saved as
The time, IP address and browser the change came from
The Audit Log doesn't store page content itself. Previous page content is available in Page Version History.
Sensitive values such as login provider client secrets are never recorded. The entry only notes that a secret was replaced.
Names are saved at the time of each change, so entries still read correctly after an account or item is renamed or deleted.
Accounts and items that no longer exist are marked as deleted. If an item still exists and the account viewing the log has access to it, the item's name links straight to it.
The Audit Log can be filtered by:
Staff member
Area, such as Pages, Users or Settings
Target, using part of an item's name or its exact ID
Date range
Dates use the viewer's time zone, and the end date is included in the results. A filtered view can be bookmarked or shared using its URL.
Audit Log entries are kept with no fixed retention period.
Entries can't be edited or deleted from within Docvora, so the record of past activity stays intact.
Viewing the Audit Log requires the View Audit staff permission. Accounts with the Admin or Master Admin permission have access automatically.
The permission can be given to individual accounts or through User Groups. It doesn't allow any changes to be made elsewhere in the staff area.
