Creating the First Page

By Docvora Assistant 1 mins 3

Once the space has been created, a page can be added to it. The page creation option is available from the staff panel navigation. Where permissions allow, a new page can also be created from the bottom of a space's page list.

The page editor contains the page title and content editor. When publishing the page, the following settings are available:

  • Space

  • Parent page

  • URL identifier

  • Group access

  • Visibility

  • Pin page

The page title, URL identifier and space are required.

Selecting a space

The Location setting determines which space contains the page.

For the first page, select the space that was created in the previous step.

URL identifier

The page URL identifier is generated automatically from the page title using the same process as spaces.

For example:

Installing Docvora

will generate:

installing-docvora

The generated identifier can be edited before the page is published.

Parent page

A parent page can be selected when the new page should appear beneath another page in the space navigation.

For the first page in a new space, this can normally be left empty.

Publishing the page

Saving the page publishes it according to its configured access and visibility settings.

Pages without group restrictions are publicly available unless another visibility setting prevents them from appearing normally.

While content is being written or edited, Docvora automatically saves a draft of the page. This allows unfinished work to be recovered after an interruption or returned to later without publishing the changes.

Drafts are maintained separately for each page being edited.
