Getting Started
Docvora supports importing existing documentation from Notion, allowing organisations to migrate their knowledge bases without manually recreating pages and content.
The migration process supports transferring Notion pages, including their sub-pages, database rows, formatting and images.
Existing content within Notion is not modified during the migration.
To begin migrating from Notion, an internal integration and its integration secret are required.
Unlike other migration methods, Notion requires individual pages to be shared with an integration before their content can be accessed.
The following requirements must be met:
Notion integration: An internal integration created within the Notion workspace.
Integration secret: The authentication secret generated when creating the integration.
Page access: The integration must be connected to each top-level page intended for migration.
Sub-pages within shared pages are automatically included in the migration.
Docvora only uses the provided integration secret during the migration process and does not store it.
An internal integration allows Docvora to access existing Notion documentation during the migration.
Sign in to Notion.
Visit Notion Integrations.
Create a new internal integration.
Select the workspace containing the documentation intended for migration.
Configure the integration with the permissions required to read existing content.
Copy the generated integration secret for use during the migration.
Integration secrets should be kept secure and should not be shared outside the migration process.
Notion integrations can only access pages that have been explicitly shared with them.
Before beginning the migration, the integration must be connected to each top-level page intended for import.
Open the Notion page intended for migration.
Select the ••• menu in the top-right corner.
Navigate to Connections.
Find and select the integration created earlier.
Repeat this process for any additional top-level pages intended for migration.
Sub-pages are automatically included when their parent page is shared with the integration, so they do not need to be connected individually.
Open the Docvora Staff Panel.
Navigate to Migration Tools.
Select Import from Notion.
Paste the generated secret into the Integration secret field.
Select Find pages to retrieve the available Notion pages.
Only pages accessible to the configured integration will be available for migration.
Select the spaces and import options.
Select start import.
The Notion migration tool supports importing the following content:
Notion pages
Sub-pages and page hierarchy
Database rows
Page formatting
Images
The migration process is designed to preserve the existing organisation and content of Notion documentation when transferring it to Docvora.
