Navigating Docvora

By Docvora Assistant 2 mins 3

Docvora uses a left sidebar for navigation across both the staff panel and documentation site.

The width of the sidebar can be adjusted to provide more or less space for navigation items.

Staff navigation

The staff panel navigation provides access to the management areas available for the documentation site. The options displayed depend on the permissions assigned to the current staff account.

Available areas can include:

  • Spaces

  • Content

  • Groups & Users

  • Settings

  • Integrations

Space management includes options for viewing, creating, hiding and archiving spaces, along with managing space sections.

Content management includes options for viewing and creating pages, managing hidden or archived pages, and accessing the broken link tracker.

Groups & Users contains the available group and staff management options.

Settings and Integrations provide access to site configuration and connected features where available.

The main staff overview page also displays site information and quick actions based on the permissions available to the current account.

Documentation navigation

  • Each space has its own page navigation displayed in the left sidebar.

  • Selecting a page name opens that page.

  • Nested pages display an arrow beside the parent page. Selecting the arrow expands or collapses the nested pages without opening the parent page.

  • Pinned pages remain within the same navigation but are displayed at the top of the page list with a pin icon.

  • A breadcrumb is displayed above the page title to show the current location within the documentation site.

Navigation between spaces can be handled by returning to the documentation home page, following links within page content, or using search.

Search is available from the top-right area of the documentation site and can also be opened using the available keyboard shortcuts, including Ctrl+S or Ctrl+F.

Search covers pages across all spaces that the current account has permission to access.

The following page information is searchable:

  • Page title

  • Page content

  • URL identifier

Search results appear instantly in a dropdown while text is entered.

The arrow keys can be used to move through the results, with Enter opening the selected page.

Search respects group access and visibility rules, so restricted content is only returned when access to that content is available.
