Content & Editing
Version History keeps a record of published page revisions.
Each published version is retained with information about when it was published, who made the change and any comment added during publishing.
Draft and automatic save states are not included in version history.
Page Version History is only available on Pro and Enterprise Plans.
Page history can be accessed from the updated date shown in the top right of a published page.
A Version History block can also be inserted into page content using the editor toolbar or slash command menu.
The block displays the revision history directly on the published page and includes:
Version number
Publication date and time
Editor
Version comment, where one was provided
The current published version is identified separately from earlier revisions.
The Version History block can be viewed by anyone with access to the published page. Access to the contents of an individual historical revision is controlled separately by permissions.
Accounts with the required Page View staff permission can open previous published versions of a page.
Historical versions are retained for the lifetime of the page and do not have a fixed retention period.
Deleting the page also removes its historical versions.
Docvora does not currently provide a comparison or diff view between revisions.
The Version History block itself does not require additional staff permissions when it is included on a page.
Opening and viewing an individual historical revision requires the appropriate Page View permission in the staff area.
This allows revision information to be displayed publicly or internally while keeping access to the historical page content restricted where required.
Version history permissions apply in the same way to normal, hidden and archived pages.
