Tables

By Docvora Assistant 1 mins 3

Tables provide a structured way to organise information into rows and columns within a Docvora page.

Tables can contain formatted text and other supported editor content.

Creating tables

Tables can be added from the editor toolbar or through the slash command menu.

The toolbar allows the required number of rows and columns to be selected before inserting the table.

Using the slash command inserts a standard 3 x 3 table, which can then be expanded as required.

Adding rows and columns

Additional rows and columns can be inserted directly from the table.

When hovering over the edge of a row or column, a plus button appears. Selecting this button inserts a new row or column at that position.

There is no fixed technical limit to the number of rows or columns, although very large tables may become difficult to read.

Removing rows and columns

Rows and columns can be selected and removed using the table controls.

These controls also provide options for working with the selected row or column without needing to recreate the table.

An entire table can be removed by selecting the table and deleting it.

Reordering rows and columns

Rows and columns can be selected and reordered using the available table controls.

This allows existing table content to be reorganised without recreating individual cells.

Column sizing

Column widths can be resized manually within the editor.

On smaller screens, tables that are wider than the available content area can be scrolled horizontally.

Header columns

Tables support header columns for content that should be visually distinguished from the remaining cells.

Formatting table content

Inline editor formatting can be used within table cells, including:

  • Bold

  • Italic

  • Underline

  • Strikethrough

  • Inline code

  • Links

  • Text colour

  • Text highlighting

Other supported content, including images and code, can also be inserted into table cells.

Table cells cannot currently be merged or split.
